Now I can open the csv copy in UTF-8 without issues. After importing to UTF-8, the question marks inside the black diamond is replaced with a plain ?. I saved the csv copy and attempted to open using UTF-8 again. I then uninstalled gnome and tried importing the csv copy using some Western European char set, and surprisingly, the characters were rendered correctly. I tried installing other fonts and tried opening in gnome but the issue remained. ![]() The orignal csv is also not rendered correctly. ![]() After the crash, the font is not being rendered again. I then made a copy of the csv and made some edits on the copy.ħ hours ago, I was editing the csv copy and experienced a crash in calc during a spell check (this crash may be due to my standard.dic being opened). Yesterday, I updated to plasma 5.11.3 then miraculously, the characters are rendered correctly on UTF-8. I tried UTF-8 and other Western European char sets when importing but still the characters are not rendered. It was 2 days ago when I noticed this issue. ![]() Yes I choose UTF-8 when importing and uchardet also returns UTF-8. Everything seems to be rendered correctly again and I don't know why.
